Celebrating our LitClubs

Last Saturday our Litclubs celebrated their last moments of the year together!

Forty girls from the neighborhoods of Passagem, Bairro Novo, Centro and Jeribucaçu met at the Centro Cultural of Itacaré to share a very nice party, full of smiles, dances and music. Together they celebrated the success of this year through many different activities; all of them organized by their devoted coordinators and teachers Michelle and Ivone, with the support of the entire ETIV staff and team of volunteers.

After a lot of food and a deliciously big cake, they wrote anonymous letter to another girl of the group, most of each had just met one another! All of them wrote and received a letter, along with a little Christmas present to embody their friendship. The participants were moved by this simple and touching moment, full of joy and promising a very encouraging future for our LitClubs!

Below you can see portraits of almost all the girls (some of them did not come to the party, while other preferred to not be photographed). The last three portraits are, respectively, of Ivone, Michelle and our amazing volunteer Nora!

Thank you to Michelle and Ivone, who put all their heart and love in the settling of this party! Thank you to the ETIV volunteers for giving a hand! Thank you to our Director Jaci Braga for running such a wonderful and inspiring project! Thank you to our Operations Manager Bernardo Salce for these portraits!

Lastly, a big thank you to all the girls who participated, showing their enthusiasm, love and joy, which gives us even more energy to continue with this project for many years to come!

Words by our French volunteer Ariane Berlan.
