Como já deve ser de seu conhecimento, uma grande tragédia aconteceu recentemente no Brasil e agora está diretamente afetando Itacaré e as comunidades ao redor. Além dos incêndios e vasta destruição da floresta Amazônica, aos quais muitos de vocês testemunharam pelos noticiários, agora mais de 2.000km do nosso lindo litoral no Brasil foram impactados por um terrível derramamento de óleo e ainda não sabemos a origem! Este é um dos piores desastres ambientais da história do Brasil. Infelizmente, o petróleo já faz dias que chegou nas praias da nossa amada Itacaré e praticamente em toda região sul da Bahia.

S.O.S Northeast Coast of Brazil

We regret to inform you of a terrible tragedy has recently occurred in Brazil and is now directly affecting Itacaré and our surrounding communities. Beyond the fires and vast destruction of the Amazon forest that many of you may have already witnessed in the news, now over 2,000km of our beautiful coastlines in Brazil have been impacted by a MASSIVE OIL SPILL, and we still do not know the source! Sadly, the petroleum has also begun to wash up onto our shores and beaches in and around our beloved Itacare, while this is one of the worst environmental disasters in Brazil’s history!

Its World Animal Day - Go out watch, listen and respect the animals that share this world with us…. After reading this.

These are sentient beings and they feel pain, fear and it is know that elephants have extremely high levels of sympathy and return to there ancestors bones on migrations, even if it means they need to go extra miles to do so.  Parrots who mate in captivity have been shown to show signs of extreme depression and death at the death of its partner.   Lets learn to think of these amazing creatures that inhabit the world with us as and extension of us, part of this strange family that came from one single life form that in habit this one strange rock, earth the only planet in the vastness of space to hold and support life.

Deforestation... Taking our breath away

Everybody does it, its vital to life as we know it, it gives us energy and we don’t even know we are doing it, breathing.  We do this so unconsciously taking 12 – 16 breaths a minuet.  What we are doing very consciously is destroying our forest at an alarming rate.  Since 1950 Madagascar has lost 90% of there forest and only 1% of the remaining forest is in good condition, we have destroyed something that took millions of years to make in 60 years, this is not sustainable. Tree’s have given life to this planet lets respect that and protect this amazing wild space.

Progress for the sake of progress is something humans have and will always do but this progress now needs to go hand in hand with how our planet will cope with these changes and therefore how humans will survive.  Oil is not a part of this future and our progress should be renewable energy and the protection of us and natures which are both in a perilous place.
